KEPSHA APP PRIVACY POLICY:

Definitions;

The ‘KEPSHA App’ is a mobile platform run by the KENYA PRIMARY SCHOOL HEAD TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (hereinafter “KEPSHA, an association of Primary School Head Teachers in Kenya), that brings together Head Teachers of primary schools across the country, to share their experiences and interact with each other.

In the process of using this platform, the KEPSHA App shall collect some personal data from you, which may be used in customizing the best content and user experience for yourself. This data will include your name, phone number, TSC number, school that you work in as well as your geographical location. We are committed to keeping your personal date secure and ensuring that the data we collect from you is used for no other purpose other than what is specified in this privacy policy.

In the process of accessing and managing the data we will collect from you, we will be guided by the constitution of the Republic of Kenya as well as other regulatory obligations specified by the Government of Kenya, such as the Data Protection Act of 2019.

Data that we collect:

In the process of using the platform, we will collect your name, phone number, TSC number, school that you work in as well as your geographical location.

We may collect information about the technical aspects of the technical infrastructure you will use, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) Address, type of mobile device you use to access the platform, cookies related to your use of websites and our platform,

If you purchase any items through our platform, we may collect a history of the type of items you purchase so as customize a better browsing and purchasing experience within the platform.

If you make a purchase of anything from our platforms through mobile money, you will be required to input a phone number as well as the requisite Mobile Money Personal Identification Number (PIN) from which the payment will be authorized. If you make a payment from a debit/credit card, we will collect the card number, the CVC number, the card expiration date, and the billing address.

If you record and upload your own multimedia content in the form of videos and audios, we will collect and store these in our servers and may share them with other users of the platform at our discretion.

How we will use your information;

The information we will collect from you will be used to;

• Allow you gain access to the information within the platform.
• Allow you make payments for products, information and/or services offered on the platform.
• Share your experiences and information with other users of the platform.
• Monitor the performance of the platform in order to improve our services.
• Determine your user habits and make recommendations with regards to other services you may need within the platform.

How we will retain your data;

We will retain your phone number, name, TSC number, IP address as well as your school as your place of work indefinitely.

We will also retain indefinitely a history of what you may have purchased on the platform as well as posted activities for the purposes of audit of submitted information for both legal and non-legal reasons.

However, if you need us to delete your data, please visit our data deletion url and place a request for this.

Protection of Data;

We will strive to continuously set up systems and procedures to ensure the safe protection of your data. We have applied various protocols to encrypt your data and give you a safe environment to work in.

Change of Policy;

This policy may be updated on a regular basis in line with emerging trends and practices across the globe.
